Despite an untimely death 11 years ago, the late Aaliyah is getting just as many music offers now as she was at the height of her career. It seems as if everyone wants to partner with her.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Canadian rapper/singer Drake is rumored to be the executive producer in charge of an upcoming posthumous Aaliyah album. Chris Brown's arch-nemesis has openly talked about how his music has been heavily influenced by the young songbird and promised after her passing to "make music in your honor until the day we finally meet."
But her longtime friends and fellow musicians, Missy Elliott and Timbaland, don't think that anything should happen without them. In an interview with New York's Power 105.1(WWPR-FM) Timbaland said, "I know they're trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if he do do it, it should be with me and him and Missy."
As early as March, her brother, Rashad Haughton said, "No official album [is] being released and supported by the Haughton family."
Fans of the singer have waited this long, what's another decade?
