Ricki Lake is on cloud nine and happier than ever due to a very recent and special occurrence -- she got ENGAGED! Just give this Hairspray star a microphone now and she'll sing it from the rooftops because this actress is in love. Of course, nothing is official until it's been said on Twitter, so Ricki used the social media site to announce the exciting news saying, "Thrilled to share some happy news with you...I'm engaged!" Included was a picture of her and her now-fiancé, Christian Evans.
She told People magazine earlier this summer that she was in no rush to make that great trip down the aisle again, but she gushed about Evans saying how he's "a nobody, but he's a somebody to me....he's everything to me." Is it just me or does that kind of have the taste of a back-handed compliment? So if a somebody and a nobody have a kid together, what does that make them?
The couple have been together since last summer, but this won't be her first time saying "I do." Lake was previously married to artist Rob Sussman, whom she divorced in 2005. She also shares two sons with Sussman -- Milo, 14, and Owen, 10 -- who apparently really like the new guy in their mother's life. She seems to really like him as well joyously stating, "I'm totally in love...I'm happier than I've ever been." You Can't Stop The Beat-ing of her love-filled heart. Congrats Ricki, we're happy for you!
