Adam Scott Gets Lead in Comedy Film 'A.C.O.D.'

Adam Scott
If it were at all feasible to start a chant via a written article, an "A-dam-Scott" one would be attempted right now.

Adam Scott: the contemporary everyman. He's put-upon, he's world-weary, he's sardonic and at long last, this tragic hero will get the lead in an upcoming film: A.C.O.D.

A.C.O.D. (Adult Children of Divorce) will follow Carter (Scott), who attempts to unite his parents civilly for younger brother Trey's imminent wedding. That's the Adam Scott I want to see on the big screen (essentially, the same Adam Scott I've seen on the small screen): an anxiety-suppressing, hilariously somber straight man working toward an improbable goal with impossible people.

Scott was the winning lead in the despicably under-renewed Party Down (he rivaled costar Martin Starr in comedic performance, which is something no other human has ever been able to claim). Plus, his addition to the Parks & Recreation cast has made the remarkable series colossally better.

But can he handle the lead in a film role? Let's put it this way: Adam Scott. Adam Scott! ADAM SCOTT! ADAM SC... yeah, this just doesn't work.
