Jon Cryer
HOLLYWOOD - Ben Affleck, Billy Ray Cyrus and Jon Cryer are just a few of the celebrity names who have helped raise almost $3 million for children's cancer-fighting charity Jimmy Fund.

Friday's all-day fundraiser proved to be an amazing success, passing its goal of $2.6 million by 12:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Particularly generous donations came from Donald Trump, who gave $60,000, and Boston Red Sox owner John Henry, who donated $30,000.

Other names participating in the telethon were Fever Pitch filmmakers Peter and Bobby Farrelly, and Massachusetts Senators Edward Kennedy and John Kerry.

The Jimmy Fund is the primary charity for the Red Sox baseball team and has been raising money for cancer research for more than 50 years.
