Robert Altman's Final Project Grinds to a Halt

Robert Altman
HOLLYWOOD - The death of director Robert Altman has thrown production of new movie Hands on a Hard Body into disarray, because nobody else can match the Gosford Park filmmaker's vision.

Seven-time Oscar nominee Altman died on Monday at age 81, bringing to an end an illustrious career.

And Picturehouse chief Ben Berney doubts whether any other filmmaker will be able to do justice to Hands on a Hard Body--a character-driven story about a truck contest in small-town Texas.

He says, "This was conceived as a Robert Altman film, and I'm not sure there can be any other way to do it."
