Anna Faris Joins Sacha Baron Cohen In 'The Dictator'

Anna FarisWell, today in holy crap this is awesome news: Anna Faris has joined Sacha Baron Cohen in The Dictator, an upcoming film from Paramount to-be-directed by Borat helmer Larry Charles. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is "the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed." In the film, Cohen will play dual roles: a goat herder and a deposed foreign ruler lost in the U.S.

Faris will play the female lead, the owner of a Whole Foods-style store in New York. The film will be shot Borat-style, relying heavily on
candid camera work and improvisation, making Faris the perfect fit for the part as she's one of the finest female improv actors working today. She reportedly beat out Kristen Wiig and Community's Gillian Jacobs for the part; but that's okay because hey, at least we still got that awesome Britta/Jeff movie coming out soon, right?
