HOLLYWOOD - Anna Nicole Smith's half-sister Donna Hogan regrets giving up on the tragic model when she needed help most.
Hogan, the coauthor of new reveal-all Train Wreck: The Life & Death of Anna Nicole Smith, admits she stopped trying to "reach out" to her sibling in interviews because she grew tired of angry retorts.
She says, "The first time I ever did an interview was actually trying to reach out to her and I wish I wouldn't have just given up so easily.
"I gave up because it seemed to just make her angry and I didn't want to act like I was pushing her because I know you can't help somebody who doesn't want to help themselves."
And Hogan wishes the world had a chance to see the real Anna Nicole--as she did.
She adds, "The real Anna--Vicky, as I called her--would be someone that everyone would really like, a lot more than the Anna Nicole that they saw."
