Well, as they say, "three's a charm." Spacing their new trailers about a month apart, Sony Pictures released the latest Battle: Los Angeles trailer earlier today. Continuing the pattern of slowly revealing more and more, we have more footage of the aliens, battles and exposition. And yep, still looks good.
My only problem with this movie (and well, alien invasion movies in general) is that there is no satisfying way of eliminating them. The human race is never actually able to destroy them by force since the aliens are always technologically superior. There is always some deus ex machina that finally tilts fortune to our favor. War of the Worlds - they happen to be allergic. Independence Day - crazy scientist happens to be able to create a crippling computer virus. I’m worried what the big twist in Battle: Los Angeles entails. But then again, they could go in the complete opposite direction and (realistically) let the aliens win. Sure it would be (very) dark, but that would actually be kind of sweet.
