Antoine Fuqua Drops Tupac For Boxing Eminem

antoine fuquaAntoine Fuqua may be the hardest working director in Hollywood that maybe might not, you know, actually work; and that means he attaches himself to all kinds of projects.

The latest is Southpaw written by Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter. The film is about a boxer who is plagued by despair despite being a champion. Eminem is attached to play the boxer and the film is looking to basically be The Fighter meets 8 Mile. It's not a bad comparison if I do say so myself. Unfortunately, seeing as Fuqua hasn’t made a movie since Brooklyn’s Finest and he has a tendency to drop projects (his involvement with this Eminem boxing movie probably kills the Tupac biopic he was supposed to do), this one will probably never see the light of a movie theater either -- which is too bad.
