Arnold Schwarzenegger's Approval Rating Dips to All-Time Low

Arnold Schwarzenegger
HOLLYWOOD - Arnold Schwarzenegger's role as California Governor is losing it shine, with

his approval ratings dropping to an all-time low.

Californians' disapproval of Governor Gray Davis led to him losing his

position in 2003, following a recall election from which Republican

Schwarzenegger walked away victorious.

But now, in a poll conducted by the Public Policy Institute of California,

close to 54 per cent of Californians say they disapprove of the Austria

native's performance--almost double the 28 per cent a year ago and slowly

approaching the 67 per cent who weren't impressed with Davis two years ago.

Tim Hodson, executive director of the Center for California Studies at

California State University, Sacramento, says, "Schwarzenegger is crashing and

burning because voters now view him as just another partisan politician and

because people just want government to do its job."

Schwarzenegger has yet to announce if he will be running for re-election in

November 2006.
