HOLLYWOOD - Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean will stay in rehab another two weeks, Reuters reports, forcing the boy band to postpone their Black & Blue World Tour 2001 once again. McLean entered a 30-day treatment program for depression and alcohol abuse on July 9.
McLean, 23, was expected to begin touring with the Backstreet Boys on Tuesday. Fellow band member Kevin Richardson said in a statement that doctors suggested it would be in McLean's best interest to take an additional two weeks in transitional care.
The band has now been forced to postpone the start of the tour again to Aug. 24.
Ten shows have been affected as a result of the scheduling change, with shows in Los Angeles and Tacoma, Wash., being cancelled altogether.
The Backstreet Boys are promoting their new album, Black & Blue, which has sold 8 million copies since it was released in November.
