HOLLYWOOD - Actress Mischa Barton will avoid jail by accepting a plea deal in her drunk-driving case, according to new reports.
The former O.C. star was charged with DUI, possession of marijuana and driving without a license in February, following an arrest in West Hollywood in December.
But Barton will plead no contest to DUI at her arraignment in a Beverly Hills court on Thursday, according to People.com, and will, in return, serve a three-year unsupervised probation term.
The 22-year-old will also be fined $1,700 and face a three-month alcohol-education class.
The marijuana charge will be dropped and the driving without a license charge will be reduced to an infraction, reports the Web site.
