HOLLYWOOD - Comedian Bill Cosby and his wife, Camille, have boosted a troubled college'smorale, after handing over a $600,000 gift.
Over the past month, North Carolina's Bennett College for Women president
Johnnetta Cole announced a 10 per cent cut in the school's work force, resigned
as president and then changed her mind and decided to stay.
On May 18, as she stood in front of the school's chapel to
announce the Cosby gift, a smiling Cole told the crowd of about 150 students,
staff and faculty, "Bennett is fine and I am fine with Bennett."
In all, says Cole, the Cosbys have given the college $800,000 this
fiscal year, some of which will be used to start a 'Cosby Scholars' program.
