Scotsman Billy Connolly has joined the cast of The Hobbit, THR reports. The prolific character actor and comedian will play Dain Ironfoot, a "great dwarf warrior and cousin of Thorin Oakenshield," (the Thorin Oakenshield?!? Whoa!) in Peter Jackson's two-part adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved novel, which is slated to unveil its first chapter, An Unexpected Journey, in theaters December 14. In a statement to the Reporter, Jackson said the addition of Connolly signaled that "the cast of The Hobbit is now complete." The hype, however, has only just begun.
