HOLLYWOOD - Bob Dylan is set to become the first rocker to land a prestigious Pulitzer Prize for his songwriting prowess.
The singer received an honorary Pulitzer on Monday for his "profound impact on popular music and American culture."
It marks the first time Pulitzer judges have honored a rock star. Past musical accolades have been given to classical music and jazz artists only.
