TV writer Peyser dead


HOLLYWOOD - Television writer Arnold Peyser, part of a successful husband-wife writing team who wrote for such popular '70s shows as The Brady Bunch and My Three Sons, died of cancer on July 1. He was 80.

He and his wife, Lois, worked on other shows such as The Dick Van Dyke Show and Love, American Style. They also penned the screenplay for the Elvis Presley film The Trouble with Girls. His wife died away in 1994.

Born in New York City, Mr. Peyser began his career writing for the radio comedian Fred Allen. Mr. Peyser was known for his understanding of the human condition and his wickedly wry sense of humor.
