HOLLYWOOD - Britney Spears’ father, Jamie, has quit his job as a caterer to dedicate himself full-time to overseeing his daughter's business affairs.
Jamie Spears was appointed conservator of the star's legal and financial affairs in February and is in charge of her estate--with court-appointed observer Andrew Wallet--until July 31.
And now, according to court papers, the pop star's father has taken on a full-time position as conservator--being awarded a $2,500 weekly salary for the role.
Spears was also awarded a $10,000 lump sum to cover the first month of his co-conservatorship over his daughter's estate, according to People.com.
The court documents also give the reason why he needs to quit his job as a caterer, with the papers stating the responsibilities of conservator "have required (his) full-time attention."
There will be a further court hearing on May 29 to discuss monetary matters in greater detail.
And it seems Spears' role overseeing the singer's affairs is paying off--since he was appointed conservator in February, the 26-year-old has secured expanded visitation rights with her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.
