Britney Voted One of the Best

HOLLYWOOD - The Beatles’ "In My Life" is the greatest pop song ever written, according to a poll of musicians and songwriters by Britain’s Mojo magazine, but the real shocker might be the surprise inclusion of a current teen queen: Britney Spears. "In My Life" by the Fab Four topped the Top 100 songs list, while Spears’ "…Baby One More Time" checked in at the other end at No. 97.

Oh baby baby, indeed.

The majority of the Top 100 songs date from more than 20 years ago. The Top Five: 1) The Beatles, "In My Life"; 2) The Rolling Stones, "Satisfaction"; 3) Judy Garland, "Over the Rainbow"; 4) The Beatles, "Here, There and Everywhere"; and 5) Smoky Robinson and the Miracles, "Tracks of My Tears."

The only artists from the 1990s to make the Top 100 were Oasis with "Live Forever" and Nirvana with "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

The full list will be published in Mojo in its August issue.
