HOLLYWOOD - Britney Spears' father is so worried about his daughter's mental state, he is demanding she be committed--according to reports.
The "Toxic" hitmaker hit the headlines for various reasons this year, including her stint in rehab, her divorce from dancer Kevin Federline and their subsequent custody battle over their two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.
And Spears' father, Jamie, fears she will self-harm or hurt her sons as a result of her public downfall and is consulting lawyers about staging an "intervention" to get his daughter into therapy, reports British newspaper The Sun.
A source tells the paper, "Jamie's concerned about her wild lifestyle. She's spending money like it is going out of fashion. He feels she should put it aside for her kids."
