HOLLYWOOD - Filmmaker Bryan Singer has hailed his latest project Superman Returns as alove story.
Singer, who directed the first two installments in the X-Men franchise, is
currently in Australia where newcomer Brandon Routh has stepped into the
superhero title role.
And while fans will get much of the action they expect, Singer reveals the
film will primarily be a love story.
He tells USA Today, "It's a story about what happens when old boyfriends come
back into your life after they've been gone a few years and things have
changed.
"Superman has always been about Lois Lane, Superman and Clark Kent and this
love triangle between these three people who are really only two people."
The movie, which will be released next June, follows Clark Kent and his
Superman alter-ego as he travels back to Metropolis after several years of
trying, in vain, to return to his home planet.
He returns to work and discovers that his former love interest Lane, played
by Kate Bosworth, has a boyfriend and a child.
