CBS Orders J.J. Abrams' ' Person of Interest' and Kat Dennings' 'Two Broke Girls'

JJ AbramsAnd the marathon of pickups and cancellations continues over at CBS. First up, they've order J.J. Abrams' crime series, Person of Interest, which stars Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson of Lost fame as a "presumed dead former CIA agent who teams with a mysterious billionaire" in New York whose goal is to stop violent crime. It sounds pretty average, but it's got J.J. behind it, so it might worth a shot. Also receiving a thumbs up is Two Broke Girls, a show that comes from Sex and the City creator Michael Patrick King and stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs as two twenty-somethings navigating the rough New York waters in the pursuit of their dreams. Comedian Whitney Cummings is attached as a producer and the project looks like little more than a multi-camera version of the beloved SATC series.

Fear not, I'm sure this isn't the last we've heard from CBS for today.
