COMING SOON: 'Boiler Room' Heats Up

SANTA MONICA, CALIF., Feb. 13, 2000 -- A week after Leo's second coming, other big Hollywood names -- in the form of Ben Affleck, Bruce Willis, Meg Ryan and Diane Keaton -- are also coming out to play.

Making their nationwide debuts in the coming week are the Wall Street flick "Boiler Room," the mobster-gone-straight comedy "The Whole Nine Yards" and the sibling-rivalry antics of "Hanging Up."

Here's a rundown of what's up:

FRIDAY

"Boiler Room" (New Line) -- Giovanni Ribisi plays an upstart stockbroker freshly recruited for a job in a firm nicknamed the "boiler room." Ben Affleck, Vin Diesel and Nia Long co-star. (Wide release)

"Hanging Up" (Sony) -- Meg Ryan, Diane Keaton and Lisa Kudrow co-star as sisters who come together to care for their dying father played by Walter Matthau. (Wide)

"Pitch Black" (USA) -- In the sci-fi thriller, a docking pilot makes a forced crash landing of her spacecraft on a distant planet. Awaiting the survivors are otherworldly creatures that inhabit the land. (Wide)

"The Whole Nine Yards" (Warners) -- Bruce Willis stars as a mob kingpin hiding out in a white picket fence neighborhood as part of the witness protection program. Matthew Perry plays one of his suspicious neighbors. (Wide)

"The Big Tease" (Warners) -- Craig Ferguson plays a Scotsman traveling to Los Angeles for an international hairdressing contest. (Expanded release)

"The Cup" (Fine Line) -- This Bhutanese film follows two boys who are sent to a monastery in the foothills of the Himalayas. (Expanded)

"Diamonds" (Miramax) -- Kirk Douglas plays a former prizefighter who takes his son and grandson on a road trip to recover 13 hidden diamonds. Dan Aykroyd co-stars. (Expanded)

"Beautiful People" (Trimark) -- Set in 1993 London, the film is comprised of intersecting vignettes about people touched by the war in Bosnia. (Limited release)

"Cotton Mary" (Artistic License) -- The film focuses on the story of two sisters living in post-independence India. (Limited)

"Not One Less" (SPC) -- Directed by Chinese director Zhang Yimou, this comic tale follows an adolescent girl who takes over a rundown schoolhouse in a rural village. (Limited)

"Sinbad: Beyond the Veil of Mysts" (Phaedra) -- This 3-D animated film follows a legendary sailor who helps a princess save her father and her kingdom. Brendan Fraser and Leonard Nimoy are among the celeb voices. (Limited).
