Campaigning to burst Disney's bubble

HOLLYWOOD - New Yorkers Fred and Vicki Modell, whose son died of Immune Deficiency (IMD), have hired famed publicist Howard Rubinstein to help mount a campaign against Disney's upcoming Bubble Boy, a comedy about a boy born without immunities and forced to live in a bubble suit, the Boston Globe reported today. Vicki Modell told the newspaper that she asked the studio to tack on a public service message about IMD to the film but that it refused. Modell said that Disney spokesperson Andrea Marozas told her that "they didn't intend to mock IMD, and that it was a terrible movie that wouldn't succeed." Marozas declined to comment.
