Carson Daly to host NBC's "Later"

HOLLYWOOD - MTV icon Carson Daly will host NBC's late night talk show Later.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daly signed a three-year deal with NBC Studios that will allow the heartthrob to host or appear on several of the network's programs.

Daly also would continue to host his daily MTV show Total Request Live and his two syndicated music radio shows. The half-hour showLater airs Mondays through Thursdays from 1:35 a.m. to 2:05 a.m., following Late Night With Conan O'Brien.

The show has been a part of the peacock's late-night line-up since 1988 but was put on hold this year, airing reruns of SCTV instead. Former hosts have included Bob Costas, Greg Kinnear and Cynthia Garett.

NBC Entertainment president Jeff Zucker said the network is ecstatic about Daly joining their lineup.
