Chains yank Christian-funded movie

HOLLYWOOD - Following last week's terrorist attacks, several movie chains have decided

not to screen the Evangelical Christian production Megiddo: The Omega

Code 2, which has an apocalyptic theme, the online entertainment

magazine Inside reported Thursday.

A spokesman for General Cinema,

one of the chains that has banned the film, told Inside: "Considering

it has a theme of the apocalypse, and a scene of the Coliseum in Rome

exploding, we felt the timing wasn't appropriate and could disturb some of

our patrons."

Other chains that have balked at running the film include

United Artists, Edwards, Pacific and Loews Cineplex. However, AMC, Regal and

Cinemark say they no plans to pull it.
