HOLLYWOOD - Hong Kong actor Jackie Chan will donate half of his fortune to his own charity when he dies.
The Rush Hour kung-fu star refuses to disclose his current net worth, but he revealed his philanthropic intentions in the wake of tycoon Warren Buffett's donation of $37 billion to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Chan says, "I admire the efforts by Buffett and Gates to help those in need a lot.
"Like Buffett and Gates, I want to help people, but I don't have as much money as they do."
The 52-year-old has earmarked the money for his Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation, which he set up in 1988 to help the needy in Hong Kong. It has now branched out to also provide medical relief in disaster zones, and help fund performing arts.
