Details are still coming in, but Variety claims that Oscar-winner Charlize Theron has been set to star opposite Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender in director Ridley Scott's highly anticipated sci-fi tentpole Prometheus.
The 20th Century Fox production was once Scott's Alien prequel, but after Damon Lindelof got involved for re-writes it took shape as an original film with fresh mythology. Walter Hill, David Giler and Tony Scott will produce. The project is schedule to hit theaters on June 8th, 2012.
Theron is also gearing up to play The Evil Queen in Universal Pictures Snow White and the Huntsmen, one of many films based on the beloved fairy tale in development. This presents a bit of a logistic conundrum, as both aim to shoot over the summer. Perhaps one requires less of Theron's presence? I'm not sure, but I'd hate to be her manager at a time like this.
