R&B singer Chris Brown has been charged with two felonies over his alleged fight with girlfriend Rihanna.
The 19-year-old star was arrested and charged with making criminal threats following a reported attack on 21-year-old Rihanna, real name Robyn Fenty. The incident occurred after a pre-Grammys party on 8 February, which is said to have left the Umbrella singer in need of hospital treatment.
Brown was freed on bail following the arrest, and on Thursday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney officially charged him with felony assault and making criminal threats.
L.A. police have refused to confirm the identity of the victim in the case, although court documents name "Robyn F." as the alleged victim.
If convicted, the sentence could range anywhere from probation to four years and eight months in a state prison, according to the district attorney's spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons.
Brown is scheduled to be arraigned at 3.30pm (local time) on Thursday in Los Angeles.
