Chris Penn Found Dead

Chris Penn
HOLLYWOOD - Sean Penn's actor brother Chris was found dead at his Santa Monica, California condominium Jan. 24.

The 43-year-old was discovered in his bed by police, but authorities are baffled by the death, and insist there is no sign of foul play. The body was discovered late in the afternoon after cops received a call from the late Rush Hour actor's housekeeper.

An autopsy is currently being carried out to determine the cause of death.

Carlito's Way star Sean's publicist Mara Buxbaum says, "The Penn family would appreciate the media's respect of their privacy during this difficult time."

Chris' recent movie The Darwin Awards is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival later today.

Although less famous than his Oscar-winning brother Sean, Chris appeared in over 45 movies, including Reservoir Dogs, Starsky and Hutch, Mulholland Falls and Footloose. He also appeared in episodes of Will & Grace, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Seinfeld and CSI: Miami.

In 1996, Chris won the Volpi cup for his supporting role in The Funeral at the Venice Film Festival.
