Chris Rock: Host of the 77th Academy Awards |
HOLLYWOOD - Oscar host Chris Rock has welcomed the introduction of a five-second time delay on ABC's television coverage of the awards ceremony Feb. 27--because he can't guarantee he won't use any swear words. The Head of State star is well-known for his use of strong language during his appearances as a stand-up comic - but he's not as worried about any potential slip ups as the American broadcasting network.
The 39-year-old tells 60 Minutes, "I've been on TV and been funny not cursing. As far as content is concerned, I will talk about the movies. I'm not really worried about it. I'm sure ABC is more worried about it than me.
"(A time delay is) a safety net. You know, you're a trapeze artist... you welcome the net."
