'Citizen Kane' Voted Best Film

HOLLYWOOD - Oscar-winning movie Citizen Kane has been named the greatest Amrerican movie of all time.

The 1941 Orson Welles classic topped the American Film Institute (AFI) poll.

Crime epic The Godfather was in second place followed by romantic World War II film Casablanca.

Alfred Hitchcock's 1958 thriller Vertigo made the top ten after coming 61st a decade ago.

Newer films such as 2001's Lord of the Rings movie, Titanic and Saving Private Ryan also made the top 100.

The top ten is:

1. Citizen Kane
2. The Godfather
3. Casablanca
4. Raging Bull
5. Singin' in the Rain
6. Gone with the Wind
7. Lawrence of Arabia
8. Schindler's List
9. Vertigo
10. Wizard of Oz
