HOLLYWOOD - German supermodel Claudia Schiffer has triumphed in a court battle againstGerman magazines, after the high court upheld a previous ruling.
The L'Oreal spokesmodel, 34, was furious when paparazzi took photos of her
and her young son Caspar on a London street after a car accident in May 2003,
and offered them for sale to German publications.
In July last year a Hamburg court ruled the magazines would breach the
privacy of Schiffer and film producer husband Matthew Vaughn's young tot, who
was five months old at the time of the accident.
The publications appealed to the High Court and their requested was rejected
June 22.
Schiffer's lawyer Matthias Prinz says, "This decision acknowledges the trend
of the courts to save parents and their children from the paparazzi."
Schiffer's fierce battle with the media over photographs of her children has
received much criticism in her native Germany, because the beauty has been
happy to pose with Caspar in advertisements for mail order catalogue company
Quelle and Kinder chocolates.
Schiffer also has a seven-month-old daughter, Clementine, with British director Matthew Vaughn.
