HOLLYWOOD - George Clooney feels terrible for the booze controversy surrounding pal Danny DeVito because he didn't let him in on his secret to staying sober.
Pint-sized DeVito hit the headlines earlier this week when he appeared on The View still recovering from a heavy night out with Clooney.
And movie hunk Clooney has accepted he's partly to blame for his friend's slurring slip-up.
He says, "I got to the point where I was dumping the shots into a plant next to me and I don't think Danny saw me do that.
Speaking about the "brutal night" in a taped TV interview, which will appear on the Today show on Monday, Clooney adds, "We were doing shots of limoncello and that's all I can really say on the subject... All I can remember."
"The funniest thing was... we were just at a restaurant. It wasn't like we were out drinking. We were at a restaurant, sitting down, drinking.
"I was in bed by 11:30 at night and I woke up at 7 a.m. and I was still drunk."
