Columbia: critic is fake

Hollywood - In a bizarre episode Columbia Pictures has admitted that recent rave reviews for some of their movies were made up by the studio itself and attributed to a fictitious movie critic. Newsweek magazine reports that David Manning, who called Australian actor Heath Ledger (A Knight's Tale) the hottest new star, was a fabrication of the studio's advertising department. Newsweek quoted a spokeswoman for Sony Pictures Entertainment, Columbia's parent company, as saying that the false reviews were "an incredibly foolish decision."
