Comedy writer Goldman dies at 81


HOLLYWOOD - Veteran TV comedy writer Hal Goldman, whose credits were featured prominently on the Jack Benny television show, died on June 27 at the age of 81, the Associated Press reported Thursday. He won three Emmys -- in 1958 and 1959 for the Benny show and in 1966 for a Carol Channing special. In 1986 he received a Writers Guild Award for George Burns's 90th Birthday Salute.
