HOLLYWOOD - Scottish screen star Sean Connery has fuelled speculation he has given up acting by revealing it would take a "monumental" offer to lure him back on set.
The 75-year-old James Bond actor is currently convalescing in the Bahamas after undergoing surgery to remove a tumour from his kidney in January.
And friends of the star expect he will delve into his second passion - politics - when he returns to full health.
Connery is a long-time supporter of the Scottish National Party and has even agreed to voice a new party political broadcast for them.
Party leader Alex Salmond said, "He's raring to go. He has got an extraordinary fighting spirit." Last year Connery turned down a $17 million offer to play a bank robber in action movie Josiah's Canon.
