Connie Britton is about to tackle the biggest, most important role of her life: motherhood. People magazine exclusively revealed that the former Friday Night Lights star adopted a 9-month-old baby boy from Ethiopia almost a week ago, after a three-year-long adoption process. Her son's name is Eyob, but also goes by the nickname Yoby.
This is a dream come true for the American Horror Story actress, who told the magazine, "I am thanking my lucky stars every day." She also recalled the very first time she held the child in her arms, saying, "It was such a wonderful moment of completion. I thought I was going to collapse into a puddle of tears. I was just grinning from ear to ear."
This is actually a really sweet story and I'm sure People will inevitably showcase the baby in one of their upcoming issues. It's always nice to hear some baby news that doesn't involve paternity tests and baby mama drama. Congratulations to Ms. Britton -- welcome to the joys of parenthood!
