HOLLYWOOD - The hotel clerk that actor Russell Crowe threw a phone at has been fired from his job at a posh New York City hotel.
Nestor Estrada was sacked from his job at the Mercer Hotel just before Christmas.
The hotel concierge reached an out-of-court settlement with the Oscar winner relating to a incident last June.
The Gladiator star was apparently frustrated about his inability to call his wife, Danielle, in Australia and after unsuccessfully seeking help from the hotel's staff, threw the phone at Estrada's head.
Estrada has filed for unemployment benefits, which the hotel is contesting.
