On Sunday, Britain's Daily Mail reported that
Keira Knightley would star in
The Life of Diana, Princess of Wales.
According to the Mail's report, producers at Pathe "have started work on the project and are keen to cast Keira, 25, as Diana - with Dame
Helen Mirren, 65, as her mother, Frances Shand Kydd."
The report further contends that a 2011 release date is set to coincide with what would have been Di's 50th birthday as well as the 30-year anniversary since her marriage to Prince Charles.
Alas, royal watchers, Pathe executive vice president Francois Ivernel tells Wiretap the report is "pure gossip!"
