HOLLYWOOD - The inquest into the death of Anna Nicole Smith's son Daniel began in the Bahamas this morning after being pushed back a day--and it now faces another delay.
Anna Nicole's lawyer/companion Howard K. Stern has asked for the delay because he is currently working on a murder trial.
Today's proceedings, if they go forward, will include the testimonies of the police photographer who took shots of the 20-year-old's body last September and a representative from Doctor's Hospital, where Daniel died.
Anna Nicole's ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead and her estranged mother Virgie Arthur were spotted in attendance at the inquest. Both are expected to testify. WENN has learned Stern is not expected to take the stand until the end of the inquest.
The inquest is expected to last between three to four weeks.
Daniel Smith died from a lethal combination of Lexapro, Zoloft and methadone while visiting his mother and newborn sister Dannielynn in the Bahamas last September.
Yesterday, in Florida, Anna Nicole's February death was ruled an accidental drug overdose by Broward County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Joshua Perper.
The 39-year-old model was found dead in her suite at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on Feb. 8--five months after the death of her son.
