HOLLYWOOD - Tom Cruise is terrifying filmmakers on the set of Mission: Impossible III, by insisting on carrying out his own death-defying stunts.
The superstar actor has refused to allow a stunt double to take on the dangerous high falls necessary for his part as secret agent Ethan Hunt in the sequel—and his willingness to push himself to the limit even scares legendary stunt coordinator Vic Armstrong, who is working on the film with him.
Armstrong tells Total Film magazine, "He did a 70-foot fall for us last week. He's amazing. He did about seven takes. Absolutely terrifies me—I can see the headlines! What a way to finish a career."
