David Chase, creator of The Sopranos, is heading back to HBO to develop a miniseries about the rise of Hollywood, the network announced on Monday.

Chase will write and executive produce the miniseries, titled A Ribbon of Dreams (named after an Orson Welles saying), as well as direct the initial episodes.

Dreams’ story will begin in 1913 and follow the growth of the film industry, as witnessed and shepherded by two main characters whose careers cross paths with the likes of John Ford, John WayneBette Davis and other A-listers from the early days of cinema.

Of his new deal, Chase said, “It gives me pleasure to think of working, together with [longtime producing partner] Brad [Grey], with HBO, again. These are all people who, obviously, occupy a special place in my heart.”

Chase’s beloved Sopranos came to an end in 2007 after six seasons and two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series.
