David Koepp to Write 'The Thin Man' Script

ALTUber-screenwriter David Koepp has been brought on to pen the script for The Thin Man, the long-in-the-works remake with Johnny Depp attached to star.

Depp is reportedly more interested in speeding up the process for Thin Man -- in which he'll play the lead role of unconventional detective Nick Charles made famous in the 1934 original by William Powell -- after his Lone Ranger project fell apart recently.

Koepp is one of the biggest names in screenwriting, having scripted tentpoles like Jurassic Park and Spider-Man, as well as the upcoming Men in Black 3. He also directed Depp in the 2004 thriller Secret Window. Depp is, of course, coming off the box office success of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, directed by Rob Marshall -- who will helm The Thin Man.
