David Letterman Ain't No Jurist

HOLLYWOOD - Some people are jury duty material, some people aren't. David Letterman -- like Pauly Shore before him -- is among the latter. The CBS "Late Show" host was spurned today in Connecticut for a seat on a car-accident lawsuit trial. We're sure he was really crushed.

Letterman, a resident of New Canaan, Conn., spent two-and-a-half hours in his local Superior Court watching how-to-be-a-good-juror videos before getting passed over for the final open alternate spot.

Per state law, the comic has now fulfilled his jury-duty responsibilities and can go back to speeding.
