to be named America's favorite TV personality in a new poll.
DeGeneres
climbed up seven places from last year's Harris Poll to take the top spot, which had been ruled by media mogul
Winfrey
since 2002.
Fellow talk-show host
Jay Leno
came in third, while
House
star
Hugh Laurie
and funnyman
Jon Stewart
rounded out the top five.
