HOLLYWOOD -
Hard-hitting western drama Deadwood was the big winner at the 2005 Primetime
Creative Arts Emmy Awards Sunday night when it swept hit shows Lost and
Desperate Housewives away to claim five honors.
The hit period show, starring Brit Ian McShane, won for cinematography, art
direction, costumes, make-up and hairstyling.
Lost and Desperate Housewives won four awards apiece.
Among the actors honored were Desperate Housewives' nosy neighbor Kathryn
Joosten, who took home one of the night's Best Guest Actress awards, Ray
Liotta, for his guest role on ER, and Will & Grace regular Bobby Cannavale
(Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series).
Controversial cartoon South Park picked up its first Emmy for Best Animated
Program.
Meanwhile, comedian Jerry Lewis was also honored with the Governors Award
for his pioneering work with victims of muscular dystrophy.
The comic hosts an annual telethon to raise cash for the victims of the
disease.
