Death Sentence for 'Prison Break'

Prison Break TV Stills
Prison Break will be seeing some permanent jail time.

After four seasons, Fox has decided to cancel the prison drama starring hunks Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, E! Online reports.

Prison Break had a hell of a run, but the run has ended," Fox president Kevin Reilly just told reporters at the TV Critics Press Tour. "This will be the last year of the show."

We sort of already had an inkling this was coming when there was a downturn in ratings, and Reilly rightly admits it’s because the show had come to its creative fruition. "The show has just played out. You get to a point creatively where you feel all the stories have been told, and you want to end strong and not gimp out in the end of the season."

So when do we have to start saying goodbye? The show aired its "winter finale" episode on Dec. 22. At least six more hours are set to kick off Friday, April 17, but that count could be upped to eight so as to properly finish the serialized saga. Said Reilly, "We want to finish strong."

I’m gonna miss those shirtless, rock-hard abs.
