HOLLYWOOD - Die Hard director John McTiernan has been caught up in an illegal wiretapping controversy after his ex-wife claimed the moviemaker broke the law to get derogatory information about her.
Donna Dubrow, who split from the director in 1997, claims McTiernan hired shamed private investigator Anthony Pellicano to illegally wiretap her phone conversations during their divorce battle.
Dubrow has now filed an invasion-of-privacy suit against her ex-husband in Los Angeles.
In the court papers, filed yesterday, Dubrow calls McTiernan's alleged actions a "reprehensible scheme."
