Dietrich lands first star on Berlin Walk of Fame


The actress became a U.S. citizen after moving across the Atlantic and finding fame in the 1930's, but she will be immortalised in her birthplace on Thursday (11Feb10) as part of the Berlin Film Festival celebrations.

Festival director Dieter Kosslick and Berlin mayor Klaus Wowereit will unveil the star, which will be placed near the city's film museum on Potsdamer Strasse.

Dietrich, who died in 1992 at the age of 90, will be the first of 40 honorees to be remembered on the Walk of Fame. The remaining stars will be revealed this summer (10).
