Disney Confirms 'Apocalypto' Distribution

HOLLYWOOD - Disney has confirmed it will distribute Mel Gibson's upcoming movie Apocalypto, despite the controversy raging around the Australian actor/director.

Gibson shocked the world when he aimed an anti-Semitic tirade at a Californian police officer who arrested him for drunk-driving last month, and industry insiders believed the conservative company would be quick to distance itself from the Braveheart Oscar-winner.

But Disney spokesperson Heidi Trotta says, "It's not true."

Apocalypto's dialogue is in ancient Mayan and tells the story of an ancient American civilization.
